In a shocking turn of events...

Yeah, I'm finally starting a blog. I know, I'm just as irritated as you are, but you can't really be surprised. I'm an attention-seeking missile and I cannot be stopped.

A quick rundown on why we are here. On June 7th, I went in for a mammogram. I'll give you all the backstory later, but I found out that I need to have surgery to take out some atypical cells from my left breast. (Let me assure you, I will be fine, and while I will allow myself some "woe is me" space here, I feel pretty good about my course of treatment and I'm pretty sure you haven't seen the last of me.)

My first thought at the doctor's office was not my own mortality. My first thought was "how the hell am I going to pay for this?" I am a freelancer. I have shitty insurance. I have no savings and I owe taxes and credit cards, and am all tied up about money. AND THUS: a blog.

This is not a breast cancer journey, this is a financial nightmare. And in a blazing act of stupidity, I'm going to share every harrowing step. So buckle up, kiddies. Let's take a step into the hellscape known as my checking account. I hate it here.
